The Position:
Position General Summary:
The Director, Web Strategy & User Experience leads the vision, governance, optimization, and ongoing management of the organization's three external-facing websites. This role is responsible for developing and executing a multi-year web strategy that advances organizational goals, strengthens the user experience, and supports organizational growth. The Director serves as the primary owner of the web ecosystem, balancing long-term strategic planning with the day-to-day operational needs of the organization. Working closely with internal stakeholders, senior leadership, technology teams, and external partners, the Director ensures the websites remain effective, accessible, scalable, and aligned with organizational priorities and customer needs.
Essential Position Functions:
Own and drive the vision, strategy, governance, budget, and multi-year roadmap for the organization's three websites, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and user needs.
Develop and maintain a comprehensive website strategy that balances long-term innovation and modernization with ongoing organizational requirements and operational priorities.
Serve as the primary owner for all website platforms, overseeing site architecture, user experience, content strategy, functionality, accessibility, performance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Lead website redesigns, platform enhancements, migrations, and other major web initiatives, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with strategic objectives.
Manage relationships with website development vendors, technology partners, and consultants, including contract oversight, project prioritization, resource planning, and performance management.
Partner with cross-functional teams to gather organizational requirements, prioritize enhancements, and translate stakeholder needs into scalable web solutions.
Establish and oversee website governance standards, including content management processes, user experience standards, accessibility compliance, quality assurance, and website best practices.
Monitor and analyze website performance metrics, user behavior, search performance, conversion metrics, and customer feedback to identify opportunities for optimization and growth.
Develop strategic recommendations and organizational cases for future website investments, technology enhancements, and digital capabilities based on organizational priorities and data-driven insights.
Ensure a consistent and high-quality user experience across all web properties while supporting evolving customer expectations and organizational objectives.
Lead and manage assigned direct reports for continual improvement in efficiency and effectiveness of the team, while fostering professional growth and development.
Serve as the organization's web strategy subject matter expert, staying informed on emerging technologies, user experience trends, accessibility standards, content management practices, and web governance best practices.
Meet professional obligations through efficient work habits such as meeting deadlines, honoring schedules, coordinating resources and meetings effectively, and demonstrating respect for others.

Minimum Requirements:
Education/Licensure/Certification:
Bachelor's degree; or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
Master's degree, preferred
Experience:
10+ years marketing experience
Business management, strategic marketing planning, digital marketing
5+ years supervising, managing, and/or leading others with demonstrated increase in responsibilities
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA's):
Knowledge of digital channels, specifically web, eCommerce, Email/CRM, digital marketing, and developing integrated marketing plans
Ability to analyze complex data sets, and develop insights and recommendations, plans of action, and formulate alternative resolutions and improvements
Ability to work with and through people to establish goals, objectives, and action plans
Ability to meet deadlines and handle diverse tasks simultaneously using prioritization and delegation
