The Electrical Technician is responsible for performing hands-on electrical installations, connections, and troubleshooting to support Storm Smart's motorized and automated hurricane protection systems. This role works in the field installing and servicing electrical components, ensuring all work is completed safely, accurately, and in compliance with electrical codes and company quality standards. The Electrical Technician plays a key role in bringing Storm Smart's storm protection solutions to life by delivering reliable electrical performance, supporting smooth installations, and contributing to an exceptional customer experience.

Key Responsibilities & Duties:
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical wiring, components, and systems for Storm Smart's hurricane protection products in residential and commercial environments.
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with the National Electrical Code, OSHA standards, and all local and company safety policies.
- Train, coach, mentor, and provide daily guidance to Electrical Technician Helpers, ensuring proper installation techniques, safe work practices, and professional jobsite behavior.
- Serve as the lead on-site resource for assigned helpers, clearly communicating job expectations, assigning tasks, and monitoring quality of work.
- Evaluate helper performance, provide real-time feedback, and support the development of technical skills, safety awareness, and customer service standards.
- Oversee proper use, care, and maintenance of tools, equipment, and company vehicles by assigned helpers.
- Review work for quality and accuracy, correcting issues and reinforcing best practices.
- Communicate job progress, challenges, and training needs to supervisors and leadership.
- Provide excellent customer service and represent Storm Smart professionally at all times.

Required Skills/ Abilities:
- Strong working knowledge of residential and light commercial electrical systems.
- Experience installing, wiring, and connecting electrical components, motors, controls, and low-voltage systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical issues and safely diagnose system failures.
- Working knowledge of NEC and local electrical codes.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation.
- Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, meters, and testing equipment.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work safely on job sites, following PPE and safety protocols.
- Strong verbal communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team.
- Professional, dependable, and customer-focused.
Education/Experience/Licenses/Certifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Electrical trade school, technical training, or apprenticeship program
- OSHA 10 preferred (or willingness to obtain).
- 2+ years of electrical experience in residential or light commercial environments preferred.
- Hands-on experience with electrical installations, wiring, and troubleshooting.
- Experience working with motorized systems, automation, or low-voltage controls preferred.
- Familiarity with electrical tools, testing equipment, and field documentation.
- Prior construction or field service experience required
- Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- No major violations or preventable infractions within the past five (5) years.
- Ability to operate company vehicles in a safe and professional manner.
