Starting Salary: $41,350.40
Job Overview: Under the supervision of the Healthy Aging Coordinator, the Health Promotions Specialist provides education and training to the community on healthy aging for older adults.
Key Responsibilities: Service delivery includes planning, teaching and evaluation of health education workshops impacting aging and disabled adults. The Health Promotions Specialist will also assist with community outreach, resource development, and development of public education materials. The Specialist serves as a liaison between Elder Options and community partners establishing positive working relationships and, developing strong community visibility for the Elder Options Aging and Disability Resource Center.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree (B.A./B.S.) from four-year college or university; or four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Successful completion of and continued certification as a Class Leader (provided by Elder Options) is required to maintain this position.
Required Skills and Abilities: This position requires the employee to travel to local community venues frequently throughout North Central Florida, as directed. Cost of travel is paid by the traveler and will be reimbursed according to state travel reimbursement policies.
