This entry-level role is ideal for someone looking to build hands-on maintenance experience while working toward Florida wastewater collections certification.

Our client is seeking a Lift Station Mechanic-in-Training to assist with preventive maintenance and repairs on lift station facilities, electromechanical machinery, and equipment. This entry-level role is ideal for someone looking to build hands-on maintenance experience while working toward Florida wastewater collections certification.
Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare pre-task plans and adhere to safety requirements before beginning work
- Assist Lift Station Operator with preventive maintenance and repairs on lift station equipment
- Lubricate equipment and check for malfunctions
- Replace packing in pumps and valves; replace bearings in motors, pumps, and other equipment
- Maintain physical appearance and housekeeping of lift stations
- Perform daily and weekly preventive maintenance on all equipment
- Perform routine electrical maintenance and motor repairs
- Clean lift station wet wells
- Perform clean-up work after repairs are completed
- Complete work orders and field complaint forms
- Participate in a weekly rotating after-hours on-call schedule, including weekends and holidays
- Perform other duties as required
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to obtain a Florida DEP-approved Class "C" Wastewater Collections license within one year of employment
- Construction experience
- Valid driver's license
Preferred Qualifications:
- Class "C" Collections Operator License (or ability to obtain)
