Position Summary

Manager/Solution Architect

Deloitte's Industrial Data Operations (IDO) practice helps clients turn plant-floor data into a trusted, reusable enterprise asset that powers operational excellence, connected enterprises, and digital transformation. We bring together people, processes, and technology to connect industrial assets and systems, contextualize data across IT and OT environments, govern data quality and access, and deliver reliable information for analytics and decision-making. Our work enables capabilities such as production performance, factory synchronization, predictive maintenance, supply chain visibility, digital twins, and AI-enabled manufacturing applications—creating the scalable data foundation organizations need to move beyond brittle point-to-point solutions and realize value from their digital investments.

Work you'll do

You will serve as the platform-agnostic industrial data architecture authority, leading foundation advisory and implementation workstreams across operational technology (OT), edge, and enterprise environments. You will define the OT-up architecture, including Unified Namespace (UNS) design, ISA-95 asset modeling, contextualization strategy, and integration topology across historian systems, edge platforms, and enterprise systems. You will also act as the technical voice in vice president- and director-level client conversations, translating plant-floor realities into practical architecture decisions.

In this role, you will partner closely with delivery leadership, handing off the cloud data platform layer to the Delivery Manager while continuing to guide the industrial data architecture. On Cognite Data Fusion (CDF) engagements, you will work with the Cognite Platform Architect to align architecture decisions with platform capabilities. This role is designed for someone with a controls or automation background who has moved into data architecture, or an OT integration lead from a vendor or systems integrator environment. You should be comfortable walking a plant floor, reading a piping and instrumentation diagram (P&ID), and translating between operations and IT, with deep familiarity in at least two of the following: ISA-95/ISA-88 standards, OPC UA/UNS, historian systems, or edge platforms.

A successful candidate would possess these skills:
* Ability to work independently and collaborate as part of a team
* Effective written and verbal communication skills
* Meticulous attention to detail and quality of work product
* Ability to build and sustain professional relationships
* Ability to lead projects or workstreams
* Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
* Strong interpersonal skills and professional demeanor
* Ability to meet deadlines
* Ability to mentor and provide clear guidance to others
