Responsible for performing detailed testing procedures, repairs, modifications, preventative maintenance, and final testing of electrical equipment for the Underwater Target department of the AUTEC Facility.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
  • Responsible for performing detailed testing procedures, repairs, modifications, preventative maintenance, and final testing of electrical equipment for the Underwater Target department of the AUTEC Facility.
  • Performs detailed testing procedures to diagnose causes of equipment malfunction.
  • Disassembles components and traces circuit continuity through stages of equipment.
  • Repairs circuit wiring and replaces faulty components as required.
  • Performs authorized modifications, preventative maintenance, and final testing of equipment under supervision.
  • Installs tracking systems in direct accord with NAVSEA specifications and guidelines.
  • Prepare and issue EMATT's

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Five (5) years electronics technology experience.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office Suite products, with an emphasis on word processing.
  • Digital analog troubleshooting skills required. MK-30 Target Theory of Operations and Crane Operators Overhead Cat 3 certifications preferred.
  • Lift/carry/push/pull up to 50 pounds of material or equipment.
  • Climb long flights of stairs and ladders at sea.
  • Pass a yearly physical as required.
  • Analytically proficient in both mechanical and electronic arenas.
  • Analytical skills to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems.
  • Detail oriented with excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Familiar with office equipment, such as fax machine and photocopier.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Word and Excel programs.
  • Must be able to reside in remote location with limited medical facilities.
  • Valid Driver's License and passport will be required.
