Hematology Oncology Associates was established in Palm Beach County over 35 years ago, and has grown to include 10 Board Certified Hematologist and Oncologists and 6 Nurse Practitioners in 3 convenient locations within our community. Our goals are to provide state of the art cancer treatments with a high level of compassionate care in a warm inviting environment. We also specialize in treatment of coagulation blood disorders, leukemias and other hematologic benign conditions. Job Description:
  • Receive and respond to incoming patient telephone calls, portal messages, and clinical inquiries.
  • Assess patient symptoms and concerns using established triage protocols and clinical judgment.
  • Prioritize urgent, emergent, and routine patient needs appropriately.
  • Escalate critical patient concerns immediately to providers or nursing staff.
  • Document all patient interactions accurately and on time in the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Provide patients with clinical instructions, medication guidance, appointment information, and follow-up directions as directed by providers or protocols.
  • Coordinate same-day appointments, urgent visits, or referrals when necessary.
  • Communicate effectively with physicians, nurse practitioners, infusion staff, laboratory personnel, pharmacy staff, and administrative departments.
  • Assist with coordination of diagnostic testing, imaging, procedures, and treatment-related follow-up.
  • Monitor provider task queues, patient callbacks, and unresolved clinical messages.
  • Ensure continuity of communication between patients and the care team.
  • Assist in managing symptom-related calls for oncology and hematology patients.
