Position Summary
Empower "U", Inc., a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), is seeking a compassionate and mission-driven Pediatrician to provide comprehensive, high-quality primary care services to infants, children, and adolescents. The Pediatrician will deliver patient-centered, culturally competent care to a diverse and underserved population while supporting the organization's commitment to improving health outcomes and reducing health disparities.
This role includes preventive care, diagnosis, and treatment of acute and chronic conditions, as well as participation in quality improvement, care coordination, and community health initiatives consistent with HRSA/FQHC regulations.

This role includes preventive care, diagnosis, and treatment of acute and chronic conditions, as well as participation in quality improvement, care coordination, and community health initiatives consistent with HRSA/FQHC regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Care
- Provide comprehensive pediatric care including:
- Well-child exams, immunizations, and developmental screenings
- Diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic illnesses
- Management of behavioral, developmental, and mental health conditions
- Deliver care in accordance with evidence-based clinical guidelines
- Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant medical documentation in the Electronic Health Record (EHR)
- Provide patient and family education focused on prevention, wellness, and disease management
- Ensure adherence to vaccine schedules and Florida immunization requirements
Productivity & Access to Care
- Maintain a daily patient volume of approximately 14-18 patients per day, based on FQHC productivity standards
- Ensure timely patient access and minimize no-show rates through effective panel management
- Participate in same-day access and walk-in availability as required
Care Coordination & Team-Based Care
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including:
- Medical Assistants (MAs)
- Behavioral Health Providers
- Care Coordinators / Case Managers
- Dental and Women's Health staff
- Participate in integrated care model (physical + behavioral health)
- Coordinate referrals to specialists and community resources
Compliance & Quality
- Adhere to all FQHC/HRSA regulatory requirements, including:
- Sliding Fee Discount Program
- Uniform Data System (UDS) reporting support
- Quality metrics (e.g., HEDIS, UDS clinical measures)
- Participate in Quality Improvement (QI) initiatives and performance reviews
- Maintain compliance with:
- HIPAA and patient confidentiality
- OSHA and infection control standards
- Florida Board of Medicine regulations
Community & Outreach
- Support community outreach and health education initiatives
- Participate in school-based or community pediatric programs as assigned
- Promote culturally competent, patient-centered care
Administrative Duties
- Attend staff meetings, case conferences, and required trainings
- Participate in peer review and credentialing processes
- Assist with policy development and clinical protocol updates when needed
Qualifications
Education & Training
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited institution
- Completion of an accredited Pediatric Residency Program
Licensure & Certifications
- Current, unrestricted Florida medical license
- Board Certified
- Current DEA registration
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification (PALS preferred)
Required Experience
- Minimum 1-3 years of clinical experience preferred (FQHC or community health experience strongly preferred)
- Experience working with underserved or diverse populations
- Bilingual (English/Spanish or English/Creole) strongly preferred given Miami patient population
