This Pharmacist position is assigned to the Orange County Medical Clinic and/or Orange County Corrections Pharmacy units and assists with all pharmaceutical services including medication ordering, receipt, packaging, labeling, distribution and storage.

Job Description

General Functions:
This position is assigned to the Orange County Medical Clinic and/or Orange County Corrections Pharmacy units and assists with all pharmaceutical services including medication ordering, receipt, packaging, labeling, distribution and storage.



Work is performed under the general supervision of the Consultant Pharmacist or Clinical Pharmacist. Work is reviewed through meetings, conferences, reports and results achieved.

Representative Duties/Assignments:


  • Performs functions in compliance with all State and Federal Regulations regarding licensure and Pharmacy practice.

  • Reviews prescriptions to assure accuracy, to ascertain the needed ingredients, and to evaluate their suitability.

  • Supervises the packaging of drugs and checks the packaging procedure and product upon completion.

  • Supervises the data entry of medication orders by pharmacy technicians, verifying accuracy upon completion.

  • Consults with medical providers as necessary regarding prescriptions

  • Maintains a perpetual inventory of controlled drugs.

  • Assists the Consultant Pharmacist, Clinical Pharmacist, and Director of Pharmacy in administrative activities as necessary.

  • Assists in the supervision of the pharmacy technicians, providing input for performance evaluations, and providing counseling and disciplinary action as necessary.

  • Provides drug information to clinical staff upon request.

  • Performs other related duties as required.


Minimum Qualifications:
Must be license and registered Pharmacist in the State of Florida by date of hire.

Preferences:
Work experience in a hospital, clinic, or retail pharmacy.

Salary Information

Pay Grade: 025 - From $52.95 to $68.84
FLSA Status: Exempt

This position will work at the Orange County Medical Clinic in downtown Orlando and at the Orange County Correctional Facility.
