We are currently seeking a talented and experienced Plans Processorto join our team of professionals. This position offers great opportunities for dynamic, motivated self-starters to work on a variety of work assignments. You'll be a member of our highly respected team of professionals with a full complement of resources to support you and exciting projects to keep you challenged.

Job Requirements:
  • Process and log construction plan submittals into the permitting and plan review software system.
  • Review incoming applications and plan packages for completeness and compliance with submission requirements.
  • Coordinate the routing and assignment of plans to appropriate trade reviewers, including building, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, fire, and other disciplines as required.
  • Track plan review progress and ensure review timelines are met.
  • Communicate with applicants, contractors, design professionals, municipal staff, and internal reviewers regarding application status, deficiencies, and permitting requirements.
  • Prepare and distribute review comments, approval documents, compliance affidavits, and approved plan sets.
  • Maintain accurate records and electronic files related to plan review activities.
  • Assist with permit issuance activities and related administrative functions.
  • Provide front desk and customer service support as needed.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Skills & Knowledge:
  • Strong customer service and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Working knowledge of permitting, construction documents, and plan review processes preferred.
  • Proficiency with computer applications and permitting software systems.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining collaboration with remote team members.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality when handling sensitive information.

Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate's degree in business administration, public administration, construction management, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of administrative, permitting, plans processing, customer service, or municipal government experience preferred.
  • Experience working within a building department, construction environment, architectural/engineering firm, or permit processing office is highly desirable.
  • Experience with electronic permitting and plan review systems preferred.
