Responsibilities

Responsible for:
  • Producing live sports broadcasts for digital and linear platforms.
  • Creating scripts for control room staff and on-air talent.
  • Creating and integrating ESPN-approved graphics into productions.
  • Working with the graphics team on graphic creation and recall.
  • Scheduling and hosting coaches' meetings with talent.
  • Building and loading replay show elements.
  • Assigning replay outputs and selecting replay angles and speeds.
  • Running the break clock for digital commercial breaks.
  • Coordinating logistics with Media Relations and Facilities.
  • Recording game records and managing Ki Pro cards.
  • Managing game melts, including tagging and uploading to EditShare and Media Bank.
  • Researching team rosters, statistics, and storylines.
  • Sending statistical data feeds prior to live broadcasts.
  • Training and mentoring game-day employees and students.
  • Assisting with coaches' shows.
  • Performing other broadcast production duties as assigned.

Qualifications

High School Diploma

Proficiency in:
  • Planning and calling a live sports broadcast from the producer chair
  • Operating Ross Xpression
  • Managing replay units for packages and replays
  • ESPN graphic workflow
  • Monitor wall layout design
  • Short yet informative cadence with directors and announcers
  • Working with sideline reporters and integrating hits in a broadcast
  • Game flow and situational element integration
  • Understanding statistics and their significance
  • Role responsibilities during a live broadcast
  • Rules of the game
  • Adobe Creative Suite
  • Working with Microsoft Excel
  • Working with XML files

Preferred Qualifications

Position requires experience as a Producer producing ESPN digital live sports broadcasts, with the ideal candidate having previous experience as a Producer or Assistant Producer (AP) for linear broadcasts. The position requires prior live sports television broadcast experience and extensive knowledge of sports, including rules, strategy, and statistics. Candidates must have extensive experience working with front and back bench operations, the ability to organize and deliver storylines through graphics, and basic video editing skills to create supporting content. The position requires the ability to perform effectively in high-pressure and stressful situations, make quick and precise decisions during critical moments, and work successfully in fast-paced environments. Candidates must be able to understand high-level and critical sports situations and communicate those situations to viewers in a clear and synchronized manner. The position also requires the ability to train and mentor students, strong oral and written communication skills, and the ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays. Additional responsibilities include participation in designated setup and strike days, including camera and microphone operations, as well as performing other duties and tasks as assigned.

Anticipated Salary Range

Hourly Rate Range - $31.25 to $36.06

40 hours a week
