What does this role look like?
Lockheed Martin is the prime contractor building the Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle, NASA's first spacecraft crafted for long-duration, human-rated deep space exploration. Orion will transport humans to interplanetary destinations beyond low Earth orbit to the moon, eventually Mars, and return them safely back to Earth.
In this role as the Project Engineer you will have the following daily key responsibilities:
• Serve as a Proposal Manager with the Capture Team
- Function as key integrator between all functions and drive the ROM/proposal from inception to award
- Conduct kick-offs, layout schedule, coordinate impacts across the program, and establish guidance
- Drive timely ROM/proposal development to meet or exceed schedules in partnership with contracts and estimating
- Support and lead process improvement initiatives
• Support Orion Program Office by establishing program deliverables and support program business rhythm by providing deliverables and inputs for program review boards and management reviews (both LM internal and with the NASA customer)
• Develop program directives and other technical plans/documents
Basic Qualifications:
• 3+ years of professional experience and post-secondary degree,
• Demonstrated previous strong coordination in planning, integration and completion of projects experience
• Demonstrated ability to lead effective teams across various functional/program organizations
• Ability to identify and assess technical, cost, and schedule impacts and offer recommendations.
Desired Skills:
• Previous proposal and writing Basis of Estimate (BOE) experience.
• Desire to enhance Program Management skills.
• Ability to manage/execute multiple projects at one time.
• Self-starter and able to operate with minimal guidance.
• Experience working with GenBOE, Jira, and Confluence
• Prior NASA or Spacecraft experience
• Cost Account Manager (CAM) experience
• Possess effective relationship-building skills with peers, leadership and suppliers
• You bring positivity and enthusiasm to every project you touch. In addition to the work, you love being part of a team and working collaboratively through the process.
• Demonstrated exceptional strategic communication skills, including written, verbal, and presentation, to effectively communicate business cases to all levels of peers, suppliers, and stakeholders, as well as program executives, with an ability to persuade and motivate action.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $85,500 - $150,765. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
