Come join our team as our next Orion Stress Analyst!
Your duties will include the providing on-site stress analysis and structural test support of flight hardware as part of the Orion Production Engineering team. Tasks will include providing timely stress analyses to guide the disposition of flight hardware discrepancies, leading acceptance tests of composite and metallic structures, and coordinating with the Engineering team to develop problem resolutions in support of ATLO. Other duties may include:
• Perform stress and fracture analyses in support of Engineering release
• Coordinate with Loads & Dynamics on component and structures environments
• Support structural qualification testing
• Coordinate with Systems Engineering on verification tasks
• Generate performance metrics and status reports for Program Management
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience with FEMAP finite element model pre/post processor
• Advanced knowledge of and experience with NASTRAN finite element solver
• Proven experience leading and mentoring junior engineers with spacecraft structural analysis methods
• Knowledge of structural characteristics and mechanical joints with ability to determine detailed load paths through complex systems
• Ability to apply new and advanced analytical techniques necessary to perform structural analysis
• US Citizenship required for this role
Desired Skills:
• A Master's degree is strongly preferred for this position
• Hardware experience, including design, analysis, assembly, Integration and Test
• Knowledge of human rated structural verification requirements of spacecraft structures
• Experience with NASA's Fracture Control system
• Experience performing crack growth analysis with NASGRO
• Experience in manufacturing environment and dispositioning of discrepant hardware
• Experience with static structural testing
• Experience performing fatigue analysis
• Experience analyzing composite material systems
• Experience with TMP Slim/Vision
• Knowledgeable of, and possesses experience with, NASA's Artemis Program
• Experience using EPDM Windchill
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple assignments and customers, simultaneously and independently
• Excellent verbal/written communication, presentation and interpersonal skills with technical and non-technical audiences.
• US Citizenship required with the ability to obtain or maintain a Secret security clearance

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $85,500 - $150,765. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
