As the Enrollment Coordinator, the primary responsibilities encompass three key functions: facilitating all administrative aspects of the enrollment process, making health benefits eligibility determinations, and managing related aspects of health benefits administration. This includes ensuring the timely and accurate processing of enrollment applications, verifying and adjudicating eligibility for VA health care benefits, and serving as a subject matter expert and point of contact for enrollment and eligibility matters across MVAHS, its satellite clinics, Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs), and Community Outpatient Program, all in support of MVAHS's mission as a teaching hospital within VISN 8 (Sunshine Healthcare Network) providing comprehensive medical, surgical, and psychiatric care.

For a GS-9 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-7. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. - Responsible for programmatic oversite of the Enrollment Program and will be responsible for informing management and executive leadership of any problems or trends regarding enrollment issues and health benefits administration.
- Prepares verbal and written responses to inquiries and complaints of veterans and congressional staff regarding health care benefits.
- Serve as primary contact for deceased veterans' families who are applying for the veterans' benefits.
- Prepares reports and replies for the Chief of HAS and executive leadership in response to internal or externals requests for program information and data such as statistical data to the National Enrollment Program, VISN and/or National reports.
- Independently develop, administer, and maintain training materials on all aspects of eligibility.
- Assisting veterans, non-veterans and beneficiaries seeking multiple medical treatment benefits.
- Daily analyzing of benefit utilization and implementing extensive body of VA and DoD regulations, rules, policies, procedures and practices associated with inpatient/outpatient activities.
- Implement communication and education activities at the local level to disseminate enrollment and health benefits eligibility information
- Responsible for researching and verifying all deceased notices from Health Eligibility.
- Provides advisory and technical assistance in a compassionate manner.

Implementing communication and education activities to disseminate enrollment and health benefits eligibility information. Identify developmental and training needs of employees. Evaluates work performance of subordinates. Coordinates inpatient/outpatient activities. Prepares and conducts public speaking presentations. OR,
- Education: Applicants may substitute education for the required experience. To qualify based on education for this grade level you must have a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree; or, two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree; or, LL.B. or J.D.
