Responsibilities
Physically picks up and delivers surplus property to and from the FSU Surplus warehouse and operates vehicles such as box truck, lift gate, pickup truck, trailer, van, forklift, golf cart, pallet jack, etc. Follows efficient truck on-load and off-load layouts to maximize available space and improve overall workflow. Performs heavy lifting of equipment, furnishings, and materials for in-office or small office moves within buildings. Utilizes basic hand tools for the disassembly and reassembly of general office furniture. May be responsible for lifting objects up to a minimum of 50 pounds independently. Cleans and operates vehicles as needed. Ensures vehicles and equipment are properly working and reports maintenance problems to the supervisor. Obtains proper paperwork with signatures on surplus forms.
Performs offloading, stacking, or organizing property within the warehouse or storage space. Assists with the moving of large items within the Surplus warehouses. Ensures the warehouse is safe and clean. Maintains surplus database, inventory records, and tracking of surplus items. Updates and logs the surplus database with inventory received, ensuring it's properly tagged, tracked, and processed for disposition.
Sorts e-waste (computers, printers, screens, tablets, etc) received by Surplus and helps to determine if each item should be sold, donated, cannibalized or recycled. Prepares pallets of computers, electronics, and other miscellaneous items to be sent to the e-waste recycling vendor for scrubbing and dispositions.
Assist the Surplus Warehouse Manager and Surplus Property Coordinator, as needed.
Assist the warehouse supervisor as required to sell surplus equipment both online and at live auction sales.
Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalency and one year of experience or a combination of post high school education and experience equal to one year.
A valid Florida or Georgia driver's license or the ability to obtain one upon hire.
