TransCore (ITS), a subsidiary of ST Engineering, is seeking a Technician I (Generator Service) to join our team in Tampa, Florida.
Summary:
The Generator Service Technician Level (one) is an entry-level role responsible for performing basic shop and field repairs, maintenance services, and troubleshooting of diesel and gas generators. A significant portion of this role will involve performing routine oil changes and basic maintenance tasks. Additional responsibilities include work on automatic transfer switches, batteries, and load banks.

- Perform routine oil changes and basic maintenance on generators
- Assist with mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and repairs
- Identify and report common issues with power generation equipment
- Replace support equipment and request necessary parts for repairs
- Drive company vehicle to and from job sites; occasional overnight travel may be required
- Provide emergency or unscheduled repairs during regular hours and occasionally after-hours, weekends, or holidays
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance services
- Follow safety regulations and maintain clean and organized work areas, vehicles, and job sites
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Basic understanding of power generation systems and components
- Willingness to learn generator and transfer switch controls
- Ability to read and follow schematics and manuals
- Strong mechanical aptitude; basic electrical knowledge is a plus
- Comfortable working in outdoor and non-climate-controlled environments
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 100 lbs.) throughout the workday
- Must pass background and drug screening initiated by TransCore; additional screenings may be required for specific projects
Education/Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
