Position Overview
The Adjunct Faculty member teaches American Sign Language courses as well as Interpretation and Deaf Education courses to students in the Associate in Science program.
Courses may be taught in an array of teaching modalities: MDC In-Person, MDC Live (Learning Interactively in a Virtual Environment), MDC Online (online delivery) and Blended Classes .

- Teaches courses
- Evaluates and advises students
- Develops curricula
- Recruits students
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Master's Degree in Interpreter Training or Deaf Education from a regionally accredited institution, or Master's Degree and 18 graduate semester hours in Sign Language or Interpreter Training for teaching transferable credit courses from a regionally accredited institution
- Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution, plus State/National certification, appropriate experience and demonstrated proficiency may be used to qualify for teaching non-transferable credit courses
- Must possess excellent communication skills
- Must be able to work well with students, faculty, staff and the community
- Must be able to function well in a technological environment
