Performs administrative and professional work planning and coordinating City of Orlando-wide communication programs and initiatives, proactively seeking positive news coverage of City departments and services, serving as a secondary spokesperson for the Mayor's office and all City departments, and writing and disseminating press materials, talking points, and marketing collateral as needed. Must have the ability to work nights and weekends.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree with major coursework in Public Relations, Journalism, English, or Communications required and two (2) years' experience in public relations or news writing required; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Valid Florida Driver's License required. Master's Degree coursework in communications, marketing, or public relations desired. Agency experience desired.

If this posting indicates a degree is required, the following experience will apply in lieu of any degree as follows:
- Two (2) years of direct experience for an associate degree;
- Four (4) years of direct experience for a bachelor's degree;
- Six (6) years of direct experience for a master's degree; or
- Nine (9) years of direct experience for a doctoral degree.
